In May of 2004, Madeira Island hosted the ITU Triathlon World Championships.
The event received 2,000 athletes, from more than fifty nations. Adaptive was responsible for online communications, athletes registration and wristbands security.

Madeira Triathlon used the following technologies: Adaptive Buzz Platform, Adaptive Online T2, Adaptive Tunneling and Adaptive SSL. In the registration centre Adaptive Wireless was implemented.
